The aim of the two-day seminar in Stockholm is to explore issues on social inclusion and transition to adulthood for the many unaccompanied children and young migrants in Europe.
More than 160 participants from 20 countries are represented. The seminar will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and practice around major issues facing migrant children and young people such as access to education, healthcare, protection, and transition to adulthood.
Anna Gärdegård, Project Leader, Nordic Welfare Centre is one of the speakers. She will present a report on reception and integration of unaccompanied children in the Scandinavian countries. She also highlights school and education as the most important services for ensuring the social inclusion of migrantchildren.
The event is organised by ESN, Socialstyrelsen, the National Board of Health and Welfare, and the City of Stockholm.
